The Holistic Aboriginal Preventative Pathways Initiative (HAPPI Clinic) is an emerging enterprise of the Burrun Dalai Aboriginal Corporation. 

The HAPPI Clinic has been designed to respond to the unmet need for early intervention and therapeutic responses to children and young people with a disability receiving services through Burrun Dalai’s Out of Home Care (OOHC) program and Family Support Service (FSS).

The HAPPI Clinic brings together a range of supports for children and young people of the Nambucca and Macleay Valley regions and will operate as a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider. 

Target population

The HAPPI Clinic provides early intervention services for all of our children regardless of which Burrun Dalai program they are a part of. Services are available to the children, young people and families within our Out of Home Care, Intensive Family Based Services and Kempsey Aboriginal Youth Worker programs. 

To be eligible for entry to Burrun Dalai prospective service participants must be eighteen years and under. Priority of access will be given to: 

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People in Burrun Dalai’s programs 
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People 
  • Children and Young people 
  • Children and young people who reside in the geographical areas of the Mid North Coast and Hunter/New England

Support options

The HAPPI Clinic provides a range of support options:

  • Speech Pathology Services
  • Literacy teaching via the MultiLit Program
  • Trauma informed Neurological Psych Assessment with individualised Therapeutic Change Plans (Behavioural Management) for families, children and young people
  • Trauma informed secondary consults with Foster Carers
  • Drug and Alcohol Counselling
  • Wellbeing Counselling
  • Genealogy Services
